Where it started

I got my start in the late '90s chasing fraud for Vodafone/AirTouch — real cases, real losses, and a lot of hours spent staring at call patterns until something looked wrong. That's really where I learned the thing I still do today: sit with messy data long enough, and it starts telling you a story.

From there it was Verizon Wireless, running the numbers behind five call centers across the West. Then Safeco and Assurant, where I moved from analyst into project management, learning how to actually get a room full of people to agree on a fix.

Twenty years of being the answer person

Wells Fargo is where things picked up — first as an Analytics Consultant, then Financial Consultant, supporting Regional Presidents and marketing teams with the kind of reporting that had to be right, every time, no excuses.

Then came US Bank, after they acquired Union Bank. I ended up in a role that didn't really exist before me — supporting two Regional Presidents, nine Regional Managers, and over 125 branches across Southern California. Dashboards, KPI reporting, goal allocation on more than five billion dollars a year. I built a Q&A system that cut branch email traffic by 90%, and automated reporting that gave five executive assistants twenty hours back every month.

I was good at being the person people went to when the numbers didn't make sense. I just didn't want that person to only exist inside a bank.

Why I walked away

I left in July 2023. Not because I stopped loving the work — I still do — but because I kept thinking about how much of what I built only ever helped people three or four levels removed from me. Regional Presidents. Executive teams. Never the small business owner down the street who needs the exact same thing and has none of the resources to get it.

That's the gap SLSquared is for. Not another AI company selling complexity. Just someone who's spent two decades doing this inside big institutions, now doing it for the businesses that usually get left out of that conversation entirely.

What I'm building toward

Right now that means building real tools — I've put together thirteen custom AI workflows so far, covering everything from client discovery to document verification — and figuring out, one conversation at a time, what small business owners actually need instead of what's trendy to sell them.

If any of this sounds like your business, I'd genuinely like to hear about it.
